Arlene Reiss started "Tickle Your Fancy" in Mendocino in the 1980's. Her interest in fashion clothing and design stems from her background of being raised in New York into a family in the couture fashion business. Her work experience focused around the Manhattan fashion scene where she worked in fashion related areas including Fashion Editor for a national magazine.

After moving to the West Coast (Mendocino), Arlene began using her experience to design and make women's clothes. This led to the opening of "Tickle Your Fancy" boutique. The clothing and accessories that Arlene offers reflect her high standard for unique, originally styled and well constructed garments. She also requires that the styles be easy to care for and affordable. As a result of her standards and ongoing search for the right designs from talented designers, "Tickle Your Fancy" has become a destination boutique for the discerning woman looking for unique clothing and accessories to fit a modern lifestyle.

In the past, coming to Mendocino and visiting Arlene and her staff at the women's clothing boutique was the only way to view or purchase this unique collection, and literally thousands of people visiting Mendocino from around the world have taken advantage of this opportunity. Recently, however, Arlene has also begun offering special selections online and by mail order.
